Our Philosophy

Crow’s Nest and District Children’s Centre and Kindergarten Association Inc. was developed specifically for the children of Crow’s Nest and Surrounding Districts. We aim through our philosophy to provide a flexible, secure, safe and nurturing environment. A place where children have the opportunity to explore and discover the world around them through play.

We believe each child develops at their own rate and through quality interactions Educators will challenge and extend each child’s learning. Individual children’s ideas, interests and stages of development shape the activities planned in our play based curriculum.

 We recognise the importance of children learning through ICTs in the technological world we live in, therefore  providing children with a range of different technological equipment to access as a part of daily program.

Sustainability and nurturing nature are important aspects of our daily planning which children learn through our reduce, reuse, recycle concepts and being actively involved in our rural studies area.

We aim for our learning environment to be stimulating, bright and inviting, decorated with the learning accomplishments of our children. 

We know a close relationship with each family, through good communication, will allow us to provide the best possible care for each child. We encourage parent involvement in all aspects of our service from sharing a puzzle or a book in the mornings to donating material, sharing a skill or culture, helping out on excursions, being involved with policy development through to being on our parent management committee.

Our Service recognises the diverse culture that is Australia, thus scaffolding  children’s learning to be inclusive of these cultures through daily planning and extensions, exploring and celebrating different countries.

Our Management Committee, Educators and Parents all work together to achieve our goal of providing the best Early Childhood Education and Care facility possible to our community.

The Educators of the Centre are all dedicated early childhood professionals, here because they are passionate about the importance of quality care and education for children.

Our Service celebrates our local community through interacting in local events, excursions to local businesses and embracing our local school.

Crow’s Nest Children’s Centre is a place to dream.
